In light of the recent Victorian Bushfires – so close to home – we agonised for over an hour deciding about whether we should be doing this show, but in the end we decided that our listeners even if affected would be listening to 2Schooners for some time-out. So we sincerely hope you can sit back, relax and enjoy this episode of Two Schooners for what it is, some downtime and mental distraction.
This episode is dedicated to everyone who is affected and who are helping with the relief efforts for the Victorian Bushfires in Southern Australia. If you have enjoyed the last 10 episodes of 2Schooners then why don’t you consider making a donation to the Red Cross Victorian Bushfire Appeal to help those who need our help right now.
Thank you
James Williams & Dave Gray

Glad you decided that the show must go on! A bit of light heartedness helps the world go round. You boys need some remedial maths classes I think… Mr Williams shouldn’t need a calculator to work out 2 x 24, and Mr Gray… 5% of $50 isn’t $5, it’s $2.50.Not wanting to become the 2Schooners official fact checker, but the Chinese Presidential Shoe-Thrower was in the UK, not the US!Whilst on the subject of grandmothers, check this out – Teenage handbag thief outpaced by 72 year old ex-sprinter.
Geez…they really rook you down there in Aus for a snack-pack… it’s like they want you to drink MORE by buying a two-four! Sheesh.I remember when it used to cost me about a buck a bottle up here in Canada, but now it’s up to about $35 for 24… and I drink the imported stuff, so it costs more.I’ve pretty much given up on buying bottles these days anyway, now I usually just buy pint-sized cans. They run around $3-3.40 depending on the brand I buy.And if I wanted lemon in my beer, I could buy a whole whack of lemons for about a buck and “infuse” it myself!
Tom – maths; I am no good at it – hopeless in fact… I was only 50% off!! Thanks for the correction. As far as Williams being wrong… well that was Barefoot Radler… In addition we don’t let the facts get in the way of a good story
But we do appreciate it being pointed out. And we don’t like to get the story wrong, sorry…
Thanks for the link!Yes Herne, we get ripped off and we know we do. Beer is as cheap as to make – I used to brew it myself for about 20 cents a stubbie (375mls)… Now I am lazy but with these increases I am thinking of going back to it.Thanks for commenting guys!!
Good show as always, I’m going for my L’s this year and I hope I can get it first time not when I’m 90, but when I’m that old I probaly won’t be able to see very well
. On a side note I’m thinking of stating a podcast and was wondering where you get your story’s. Thanks again for the lighter side of the week!
Tom125 I stand behind my previous comments on this podcast, that I am not a maths person, and as you can see I rarely get my facts straight, so I need all the help I can get when under the influence of a Barefoot Radler handicap! Thanks for the comments Herne and Frank. Herne we are constantly getting stung for alcohol here in australia and a DIY infusion solution might be our only hope of an affordable refreshing beverage soon.Frank we source our stories from all over the net, mostly from news sources. We have a keen eye for the bizarre!Loving the comments guys, keep ‘em coming!Anyone got any boutique beer suggestions for the next 10 shows?
@JamesWilliams Herne we are constantly getting stung for alcohol here in australia and a DIY infusion solution might be our only hope of an affordable refreshing beverage soon. There’s your next big idea, James! Invent a lemon/lime infusion that can be added to lager and sell it! You’ll make millions!
Well I checked the Liquors guide and because it’s brewed it is classed as beer for tax and not an RTD/alcopop.@Herne – the difficulty would be to make a clear lemon/lime concoction that was natural. I suspect barefoot add it to their beer, then cold filter the beer again to remove the cloudiness of the lemon/lime. You could do it with chemicals… but yuck.
Wow, you know how to pronounce Geylang! I often forget the ties to Singapore. So many people have moved between the two countries. I guess it’s tough for me to understand “Commonwealth” relationships. If anyone visits Singapore I recommend Little India as a beautiful tourist trap-ish area. Geylang has awesome Malay Cultural sites.Queue the gum jokes! The koala picture was incredible. To think a wounded feral beast would drink his water and it let the guy touch his head! Briefly changed my twitter avatar to myself holding a shoe labeled Bush but realized that’s not a great idea and took it down. Totally missed the UK thrower. Living with people raised on PRC propaganda is really no different than living with people raised on American CNN/Fox propaganda. Most people will swallow any mass media lie as long as it’s repeated enough.Did I just botch the comedy tone? haha.. Sorry!
